Help Military Families Overseas Save Money

I know I am guilty of clipping and not using coupons. I have a bunch of them on my refrigerator right now, lol.

Now we can all help military families that are overseas with our expired coupons. Many commissaries overseas accept coupons that are up to two months passed their expiration date.

This is a good program, I would like to participate myself by adopting a base. I have family in the military (none overseas) so I feel it is my duty to do whatever I can to help them and their families (regardless of what your political party is).

You can go to Ocpnet.org for a list of places that accept donations (coupons) for this program and for more information about donating coupons.

From Ocpnet.org:"How do I "adopt" my own base, and send my coupons directly overseas?"

Should you as an individual or your organization choose to support the Overseas Coupon Program by adopting a base, just send your base choice along with the other requested information from the overseas base list page. If you have questions about the process you may E-mail us or write us at :

* in 2006 coupons the total of savings passed on was $4.8 million ( the total value of the coupons).

Get Free Stuff From Your Favorite Sports Team

Most of us have a sports fan in our lives, whether it be yourself, spouse, sibling, friend, etc... if you are one of those people you know that they love anything with their team logo on it. Many of the teams (even minor league teams) have stuff they will send you free. You just have to ask.

Now do not go expecting anything to "grand", a standard "fan packs" have a team schedule (a schedule of the teams pre-season and regular games), (a few) stickers , sign up forms for fan clubs, and sometimes things like key chains.

Start your search for freebies by visiting your team’s website. Find the "contact us" section, they probably have the contacts listed by departments. Read through the contacts and find the promotions or fan department. Send a polite email asking if they give free fan pack and if they how do you get one sent to you ( Increase Your Chances: make sure you include your mailing address in that email so they can just send it without having to reply to get the mailing address, the less work for them the better). If you spend enough time looking around the site you may find the place they have the address/email to send a SASE (or email your mailing address) to receive your fan pack.

The team schedules are a great thing to collect. You can get a new one each year and add to your collection. I get ones from teams I do not even like just because I am a collector.

Save On Renting a Hotel Room

A little known way to save money on renting a hotel room is; when you are checking-in ask about the "out-of-order" rooms. Most of the time theses room deemed "out-of-order" are done so because of little problems. Virtually unnoticeable defects like fraying drapes.

The reason they close rooms that are still good (good enough for me at least, lol) is the hotel owners have to keep things to a standard set by the franchise, like a Super 8, Hilton, etc.. That is pretty much standard for all "franchise businesses", they want to make sure that their good name is not soiled by one bad apple. In the hotel franchising industry, the "head office" usually sends a inspector to make sure they comply. However, if you do not care about the broken soap dish in the shower (especially when it comes with a discount) they are usually more then happy fill that room (which leaves your originally booked room open).

Get Free Stuff!

I love TeenFreeWay.com, I have been getting free samples (and stuff) from this site for a long time. My sister found it when we first got the internet at our home (which was over 9 years ago).

Do not let the name fool, you do not have to be a teen to sign up for free stuff. I have never been turned downed because I am not a teenager.

If you sign up for any freebies please let us know here at suckystuff.info (leave a comment)!
